RED DEER: STAG HUNTING IN ARGENTINA The red deer (Cervus elaphus) is one of the most splendid wild animals. Shy & wary even in the relative freedom of hunting areas, it is one of the most coveted trophies for anyone priding himself as a hunter. The origin, characteristics & behavior of the red deer, and how it was introduced into Argentina, are the subject matter of this book. There are also descriptions of the main hunting areas. From Pedro Luro's pioneering activities to the work of present-day owners of hunting areas, herds have been improved by means of selective breeding, and today in Argentina, there are red deer specimens more majestic than their European or Asian ancestors.ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHERS:Henry von Wartenberg was born in Mar del Plata in 1967 and has been a professional photographer since 1990.
